Write one complete question
A useful Liu Yao (六爻) discussion begins with a clearly stated matter. 'What about work, love and moving?' combines several cases. Choose the immediate matter and keep other topics in separate records so subsequent interpretation has a stable subject.
Separate facts from expectations
'I submitted an application' describes an event. 'I hope to receive a reply' describes an expectation. Keeping these distinct helps prevent an answer from filling gaps with a desired story. Do not invent details to make the reading sound more definite.
Give the question a scope
'How might this application progress over the next month?' is easier to understand than 'Will I succeed in life?' A defined period limits the discussion; it does not guarantee a reliable prediction. Use practical evidence to make consequential decisions.
Preserve the actual record
Record the casting method and inputs you used. If you are learning the interface, label the record as an example. Do not mix demonstration data with an actual personal question. Follow-ups may clarify the same matter, but a changed matter or focus needs a separate case rather than inherited conclusions.
Open the Liu Yao tool after writing the matter, relevant background and time scope. Review the resulting hexagram and moving lines before asking for interpretation.
